North Country Consortium Vision
Statement
"Our vision for the North Country
is an informed and supportive community committed to academic
excellence and wellness, with clear and enforced community
values and collaboration through seamless environmental management."
North Country Consortium Mission
Statement
"The mission of the consortia
is to support efforts aimed at decreasing
high risk alcohol and drug use within high schools, colleges
campuses, and communities in the North Country. The mission
will be accomplished through the development of consistent
and coordinated prevention and intervention strategies across
campuses and communities in the North Country. These prevention
and intervention strategies are based on the "best practices"
available in the field today."
The Consortium meets every two months
and alternates between the eastern and western part of the
region. It is divided into three subcommittees: networking,
data and research, and funding and resources. Each subcommittee
alternates in deciding the topics for meetings. Since January
2004 the Consortia has developed a vision and mission statement,
and shared disciplinary consequences and educational programs
for students adjudicated for alcohol and other substances.
Future plans include sharing survey and creative ways to use
that data for prevention.
